Camp Road Warrior was a week in the mountains built for veterans to slow down, reset, and reconnect with good people.
Eight veterans spent the week riding Can-Am 3-wheel vehicles through the mountain roads and ridgelines of North Carolina. During the day, they explored. At night, they gathered around the fire. Somewhere between the throttle and the woodsmoke, the conversations became honest. There was plenty of laughter, some quiet moments, and a few hard ones. That mix was the point.
The week culminated at Badlands Off-Road Park from October 2-4. On October 3, International Off-Road Day, the veterans spent the day putting Can-Am units through the wide-open terrain of Badlands, with live music from Levi Riggs on the dunes.
Iron Horse opened its mountains to these veterans. Badlands gave them the space to hold it wide open one last time.
But the places are only part of what made Camp Road Warrior what it was. It was the people.
To the entire Badlands crew, thank you for opening your gates, welcoming our veterans, and helping us finish the week the right way. To the Sweet Heat For Your Meat crew, thank you for showing up, feeding everyone, and becoming part of the experience. To every volunteer who gave their time, every supporter who helped make the week possible, and every rider who joined us on the trail, thank you.
Events like this don't happen because of one organization or one person. They happen because a lot of people decide that something matters enough to give their time, their resources, their property, their skills, or simply their presence.
For the veterans who came with us, we hope they left with more than memories of the ride. We hope they left with a few new friends, a little more room to breathe, and the reminder that they are still part of something bigger than themselves.
That is what Camp Road Warrior was about. The machines got us there. The mountains gave us the space. The people made it matter.
